Here’s a mobile phone game that could help you kill time while you’re waiting for your dentists Glasgow to have you fitted with your invisalign, Cake Mania Mobile.
If you’re familiar with service type games such as Diner Dash, then you’ll definitely love Cake Mania. I’ve already finished the PC game but I’m still addicted to the mobile version.
With Cake Mania, you’re the owner of a bakeshop and you have to serve your customers with the exact cake that they order. Cakes come in different shapes and sizes and the action goes this way: first make the cake by clicking on the oven and matching the shape of the cake the customer wants, then place the cake on the icing machine and match the color of the icing and then when you have already purchased some upgrades, you also have to match the cake decorations.
Sounds easy enough and it is during the first levels but once customers start coming in and their cakes become more elaborate, that’s when your fingers are literally all over the place.
Cake Mania Mobile is definitely one of the top five casual games that you have to buy on your mobile phone.

Okay, so it’s not the PSP phone but it’s close. The Sony Ericsson F305 is Sony’s attempt to compete with the Nokia NGage. The Sony Ericsson F305 utilizes motion gaming, meaning it’s like having a portable Wii in your pocket.
Design
The Sony Ericsson F305 is a pocket-sized slider phone with a large 2.0 inch screen. It only weighs 97.5 grams and has dimensions of 96.0 x 47.0 x 14.6 mm. At first glance, if it weren’t for the call and end buttons, you might actually mistake it for an old fashioned gaming device but slide it open and you’ll see the evenly-spaced though somewhat small keypad.
Features
The Sony Ericsson F305, according to Sony, uses advanced motion sensor technology. You can control games with the flick of the wrist or the swing of an arm. If you own a Sony Ericsson W910i, then you’re already familiar with the motion games. I loved the games on the W910i and if the motion sensor on the F305 is more advanced, I hope the processor is advanced as well because motion sensing games won’t be a lot of fun if the processor is sluggish. The Sony Ericsson F305 is preloaded with three games, Bowling, Bass fishing and Jockey though I hope that they would add more.

Of course, let’s not forget that the F305 is also a mobile phone which means you get nice 2 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, Media Player with TrackID, FM Radio, Bluetooth with Steroe A2DP profile, 10MB internal memory, and Memory Stick Micro support. Sad to say that it is not a 3G phone and only works on GSM 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 networks.
OutlookThe Sony Ericsson F305 is a new breed of Sony Ericsson mobile phones. Though there are only a handful of gaming phones out in the market, I could really see the Sony Ericsson F305 becoming popular with teens specially since the Wii became such a hit. But I have to say that it would be hard to play games in a public place since there’s a chance that you might be mistaken for a lunatic if you keep swinging your mobile phone around. Anyways, I can’t understand why Sony Ericsson just can’t make a PSP phone. I don’t care how much it will cost, I want one.

Here’s a mobile phone that dentists in Leicester would probably recommend to their clients: a cell phone that can spot bad breath. Yep, mobile phone manufacturers think of EVERYTHING. So what’s next on the menu, the kitchen sink?
The mobile phone manufactured by a Japanese company called Mitsubishi is only a prototype but according to reports, it has a built-in bad breath meter that will alert you if you’re in dire need of a mint. The mobile phone is aptly called the Wellness Navigator and aside from telling you that your breath stinks, it also has a pedometer, a pulse meter, body-fat analyzer, and can also help you keep track of your caloric intake.
The Wellness Navigator has a sensor that detects sulfides and ranks the user's breath on a scale of 1 to 10 though the accuracy of this nifty little device is highly doubted by some dentists Southampton. I mean, it would probably take years before a mobile phone could replace an accurate halitosis meter.

And here’s another new entry-level phone from Sony Ericsson: the Sony Ericsson K330i. An alternative to the high-end Sony Ericsson C905, the K330i is an entry-level camera phone.
The Sony Ericsson K330i is a small candy-bar phone with little gold trimmings on the navigation key and the soft keys and a minimalist design. It only weighs 75 grams and has dimensions of 100.0 x 45.0 x 12.0 mm.
Like the J132, the Sony Ericsson K330i has a large phone book capacity which can store up to 1000 contacts and 450 text messages. And though it can’t exactly compete with the 8 megapixel resolution on the SE C905, the K330i has a capable .3 VGA camera that can also record videos. The display is a wee bit small at only 1.7” but it’s normal for entry-level phones.
Other features on the Sony Ericsson K330i includes an FM radio, calorie tracking with Health mate, built-in flashlight with the Torch function, Bluetooth, video playback, and capable of MP3 ringtones playback.
The Sony Ericsson K330i will soon be available during the 3rd quarter of 2008.

Sure, Bluetooth headsets are very cool looking and portable especially for businessmen, but we’ve all come to a point wherein we look like idiots when using our Bluetooth headsets since we look like we’re talking to ourselves. Now here’s another mobile phone accessory that would beat Bluetooth headsets: microphone implants for teeth. According to this report, Chinavision has made a small microphone with solar panel and battery that is probably the smallest Bluetooth handsfree kit.
Sounds like a gadget in spy movies. The device is made of durable composite resin though you need the help of cosmetic dentists in order to drill a hole in your teeth to make the device fit.
Whether this device is indeed real or not, it would be a nightmare for any emergency dentist once patients complain of toothache.

It seems that Sony Ericsson is bent on dominating the camera phone department. Along with introducing its 8 mega pixel wonder that is geared towards being a replacement for digital cameras, the Sony Ericsson C905, it also introduced this small wonder, the Sony Ericsson S302 Snapshot.
Design
The Sony Ericsson S302 is a small, slim, candy bar phone that you can easily whip out of your pocket whenever you feel the need to snap a quick photo, thus the nickname, Snapshot.
Features
Though the Sony Ericsson S302 is mainly a camera phone, I don't know why Sony Ericsson only loaded this with a 2 mega pixel sensor. Maybe so it could be an affordable camera phone. In order to make the Sony Ericsson S302 more affordable, Sony took away the high end features found on the Sony Ericsson C905 such as face detection and image stabilization but the S302 has the photo fix and photo light functions. The S302 has 20MB internal memory expandable with a memory stick micro.
Outlook
Though you really can’t do much with a 2 mega pixel camera on a mobile phone, the Sony Ericsson S302 might be a good choice for those looking for an affordable camera phone. Those who’re looking for something much more than 2 megapixels, you should try taking a look at the Sony Ericsson K850i or the Sony Ericsson K770i. Since Sony would be releasing new products this year, expect the price for the K850i and the K770i to drop and you have yourself a good quality camera phone.

I have previously owned the HTC P3600 or Dopod D810 as what it is called in Asia. Thankfully, I got the white one so I had no issues with any paint peeling off near the stylus section but it seems that this is a common problem with some HTC P3600 owners specially those early owners. Now most people on the forums recommend two solutions though the solutions are not exactly cosmetic dentistry on a chipped tooth, meaning they're only temporary.
Solution One, Silicon case. Silicon case does a good job of protecting any gadgets from cell phones to ipods and even laptops. Though sometimes, they lessen the appeal of your gadget but nevertheless, it would protect it.
Solution Two. Clear Nail Polish. Now you need the patience and precision of dentists Manchester to do this. You need to dab the right amount lest you want your PDA to look like it has goo sticking out of it. The nail polish would prevent future peeling though again, it is only a temporary solution.
Thankfully, if you bought a new one, HTC has already addressed the paint peeling issues. If you're savvy enough, you can also buy a different case off eBay and then replace the case yourself.

If you have relatives or friends abroad and you’re thinking of using your mobile phone to call them, well, here’s a price comparison of Long Distance Rates of the different UK wireless carriers so you can choose which one would best suit you, though I have to say that you can probably save more if you just use a prepaid card.
O2
For O2 UK, if you make frequent international calls, you can opt in for their International Traveller Service (ITS) for an additional £2.99 per month. If you have tariffs with 600 minutes above, it is already included. O2 divided the world into 6 zones with prices ranging from as low as 14p to 90p per minute. You can check their rates here.
3 UK
With 3 UK, you can save a lot depending on which country you will call and how frequently you call your relatives there. For an additional £15 on any of their plans, you can make unlimited International calls by simply dialing 388 and the international number. For more information on their service, you can check here
Vodafone UK
Vodafone offers a similar plan as O2’s ITS only they call theirs International Call Saver (ICS). ICS is free on Vodafone’s Anytime 1200 plan or you can add £2.50 per month on their other price plans. Vodafone divided the world into five regions and international call rates with ICS range from 20p to 90p per minute. Their international call rates can be found here.
T-Mobile UK
T-Mobile on the other hand offers International Open Pass and they offer two choices. With “Light”, you have to pay £2.50 per month and you can call at a flat rate of 20p per minute to both mobiles and landlines. With their “Max” plan, you have to add £5 per month to your monthly bill and you can avail of their low rates of 15p per minute to international mobile phone numbers or 4p per minute to landlines. You can learn more here.

Finally, Motorola has dediced to release a camera phone. Though I understand that Motorola really doesn't have the resources to build a good quality camera phone, them partnering with Kodak to build the MotoZine ZN5 seems promising.
So what does the Motorola MotoZine ZN5 has to offer that other 5 megapixel camera phones doesn't have? Well for starters, the MotoZine ZN5 has a fun interface...that is, if you love the mode shift technology on the MotoROKR E8.
But first, since the MotoZine ZN5 is mainly a camera phone, let's check out what are the camera phone goodies. First off is its 5 mega pixel sensor which is proudly Kodak, of course and is protected by a sliding lens cover. A xenon flash, autofocus, low light optimized images, multi-shot mode, fixed optical zoom lens, a digital viewfinder, and a Focal length of 5.56mm and Aperture value of 2.8/5.6. As for the image quality, if it is really true that the pictures on the MotoZine ZN5 Kodak Gallery is taken by the same camera phone, then the sample images would make you go--WOW! Of course, we don't know if these photos are unaltered or the photographers gave it a little oomph with Photoshop.

Other features of the Motorola MotoZine ZN5 includes: a 2.4 inch screen, 350MB onboard memory expandable up to 4GB with a memory card, 3.5mm headset jack, WiFi, Stereo Bluetooth, Microsoft Windows Media Player 11, and an FM radio.

The Motorola MotoZine ZN5 will be available in China first in July 2008 followed by the rest of the world.

I have had the chance of buying this novelty gadget, a crank LED flashlight but this is the first time I've seen a Crank LED Flashlight & Cell Phone Charger in one. I really had to blog about this because, well--talk about old school!
It's a nice emergency gadget that you can have around, I mean imagine yourself in place without any electrical socket though you have brought your mobile phone charger and you REALLY need to make an emergency phone call.
You can use the dynamo handle to generate power though for how long will you keep rotating that handle to get 30 mins of light or 2 minutes talk time is beyond me.
Saw this crank cell phone charger over at

Check my Samsung Omnia Detailed Review.
When I got my hands on the Samsung F480, I wished that somehow the user interface would make its way to a windows mobile device. It turns out that the UI is available on a windows mobile device and on a Samsung phone too: the Samsung i900 or Samsung Omnia.
The Samsung Omnia is a touchscreen phone with a 3.2 inch screen and the optical mouse that I have loved on the Samsung i780. The touch interface on the Samsung i900 isn’t like the one on the iPhone or the touchFLO 3D on the HTC Touch Diamond. Though in terms of touch interface, it couldn’t compete with the iPhone, it might give the HTC Touch Diamond a run for its money.
With a 624MHz Marvell PXA312 processor, 128MB of RAM and 8GB or 16GB of internal memory expandable with a microSD slot, the specifications of the Samsung Omnia outdid that of the HTC Touch Diamond and is right up there with the Apple iPhone.
Omnia means “everything” and you can literally find everything on the Samsung i900. It has 3G HSDPA, WiFi, GPS, accelerometer, and a whopping 5 megapixel camera. Now I have really loved my Samsung i780. For a windows mobile device, it has far less issues compared with other HTC devices I have handled and if The Samsung i900 Omnia can deliver the same performance, I might actually try it out though it still didn’t bump off the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 on top of my wish list.

What I don’t get though is why Samsung felt the need to add an optical mouse on the Samsung i900 Omnia when first and foremost, it’s a touch screen phone. I mean, I could understand the need for it on the Samsung i780 since users can opt to use the optical as a D-Pad when the feel the need to have a Blackberry-like device but wouldn’t it be easier to scroll through the interface using your fingers rather than the optical mouse?
Anyways, aside from that weird addition of the optical mouse, every windows mobile fan should definitely have the Samsung Omnia on their wish list. Now if only Samsung could come up with a similar device but with a QWERTY keyboard like the X1 or HTC Touch Pro then that would definitely bump it up on top of my wish list.

Though it's not a free 3G iPhone as O2 is offering, T-Mobile Germany will be offering their 8GB 3G iPhone for as low as 1 euro with a 69 euro contract. The 16GB model will go for as low as 39.95 euro or 19.95 euro with the 69 or 89 euro plan.
Over on the US side, AT&T will sell the 8GB 3G iPhone for a fixed price of $199 no matter which plan the customer picks.
Retailers have drastically dropped the price of the previous iPhone in anticipation for the 3G iPhone and carriers are heavily subsidizing it in order to woo more customers.
The iPhone has shot to the top of smartphone sales ever since its launch in June last year. Unlocked and some free iPhone has been surfacing around the net to cater to customers in other countries which the iPhone has not yet reached.

I’ve been talking about and reviewing mobile phones for the past couple of months now but I still haven’t posted anything on where to buy cheap mobile phones. Honestly, the best and cheapest mobile phones are those that come from the wireless carriers. Carriers such as O2, Vodafone, and T-Mobile already subsidize the cost of the cell phones so you can get some mobile phones for free with different tariff rates.
However, buying mobile phones from wireless carriers would mean that your mobile phone would be locked to their network and you also have the burden of paying regular monthly dues even if you seldom use your mobile phone.
The cheapest way to get unlocked mobile phones would be from International sellers. You can find them on eBay and there are also US sites that are willing to ship internationally. You can also try looking into a business directory and look for exporters. Though some would rather sell wholesale, you can find dropshippers or a few wholesalers willing to sell samples.
A word of warning though: be very careful when dealing with International Sellers. Be sure they have a website, contact numbers and if you’re thinking of doing business with them in bulk, hire an escrow service.
Your safest bet would be at eBay since eBay has some security measures put up, there’s also Amazon marketplace and Expansys.co.uk, though the latter’s price are a bit higher compared with some eBay international sellers.

Though Nokia has no need to worry about Apple eating up their sales in terms of over-all mobile phone sales, don’t expect them to just hand over the smart phone market to Apple on a silver platter. And so enters the Nokia E71.
Design
The Nokia E71 is I think only one of four of Nokia’s mobile phones that has this Blackberry-like style. The Nokia E71 has a stainless steel case and is available in two colours, gray steel and white steel. A large 2.36 inch QVGA display complements the metallic finish.
Features
The Nokia E71 is ultimately an email phone. From its QWERTY keyboard, large display, to the Microsoft Exchange Server support, everything is designed for business individuals and to kick RIM’s arse.
Other worthwhile features that business users would find particularly useful is the built in mobile VPN on the Nokia E71 so they can easily access their company’s intranet plus data encryption capabilities for their phone memory and microSD card to protect their valuable documents/emails.
Other features include: 3.2 megapixel camera, A2DP profile, musc ringtones(real tones), built-in A-GPS, 3G with HSDPA, and WiFi.
Outlook
The Nokia E71 seems promising though the QWERTY keys and D-pad on the device seems a little bit hard to work with since it all seems bunched up. The Nokia S60 devices have always been user friendly and if you’re a die-hard Nokia fan looking for a smart phone, the Nokia E71 would probably be a good choice though you can always wait for clear cut reviews.

Maybe I should rename my blog to Samsung Cell Phone reviews since I seem to be reviewing more Samsung mobile phones. Anyways, the Samsung F480 is another new mobile phone from Samsung and if you’re looking for a touch screen phone this could be a good phone for you.
Design
At first look, the Samsung F480 would remind you of the Samsung Armani though with its name, you’d think it would look more like the Samsung F490. The Samsung F480 is a very compact, touch screen phone. The metallic accents would make you think that this is a luxury phone. What I love about Samsung is that they are not scrimping on accessories and add-ons. First, they’re including spare battery with every package and now with the Samsung F480, you can refit your battery cover to change from leather-case look to non-leather case look.
Features
The Samsung F480 has a 2.8 inch QVGA screen which means images and colors are alive and have the right balance of brightness and color saturation. As with the Samsung F490 the Samsung F480 offers haptic feedback so it adds to its user friendliness. What I love and I do mean LOVE about the Samsung F480 is its user interface. Unlike the Samsung F490 which offers a croix interface, you get widgets on this device. The interface reminds me of Windows Vista specially the sidebar. I’ve always wanted to get a Windows Vista feel on my windows mobile device but couldn’t find the right themes or widgets. The interface of the Samsung F480 is enough to drool about.

If you’ve noticed, there isn’t much talk about any iPhone-comparison with this review, it’s because I think that the Samsung F480 has enough features to distinguish it from the iPhone. The F480 doesn’t try hard to imitate the iPhone looks or its user interface, unlike other phones. If only HTC came up first with this user interface on their new HTC Touch Diamond I would definitely give it much more credit though I’m sure clever developers would find away to do that.
Unlike the Samsung F490, the Samsung F480 has a much responsive interface and faster too. Why Samsung named it so that users would think that the F480 is inferior to the F490 is beyond me. What’s wrong with Samsung F500 or F495?
Input option for the Samsung F480is through a regular phone pad and not a QWERTY one (another thing that sets it apart from the iPhone). Avid texters would love this.
The Samsung F480 is a capable music player, it has a music recognition feature, FM radio with RDS, equalizers and some sound effects. Audio quality is okay though I wish they would also put some Band and Olfusen like the one on the Samsung Soul on this device. The F480 is also equipped with Bluetooth A2DP profile.
Speaking of the Samsung Soul, the Samsung F480 also has a camera with face detection. The F480’s camera is 5 mega pixels and you also get, aside from face detection, anti-shake and other manual controls. It’s not as fast as the Samsung Soul’s camera it does the job.
Connectivity options on the Samsung F480 includes HSDPA, and Bluetooth
Complaints
Though indoors, the Samsung F480’s camera provides sharp details, under direct sunlight, it’s hardly legible. I wish Samsung would do something about this, I have a similar complaint with the Samsung i780.
Though the Samsung F480’s camera settings is capable enough, the LED flash is pretty useless as it doesn’t do much to improve the image.
Though my preferred input option on my windows mobile devices is the phone pad, QWERTY phone users would probably complain about the lack of QWERTY input option. Samsung should have allowed users to choose what kind of input option they want.
Also, the Samsung F480 doesn't have WiFi but since it's not trying to be a smartphone, I'll forgive it for that. I originally thought it had one so I mentioned it in passing, forgive me for my boo-boo.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a touch screen version of the Samsung Soul, the Samsung F480 is the closest thing amongst Samsung’s phone line-up. As a fashion phone, the Samsung F480 would definitely turn heads but I don’t know whether this phone would fit the music phone or camera phone category since it really doesn’t excel on both. I’m leaning more towards the camera phone type but there are much more capable camera phones out in the market. Rather, the Samsung F480 is an all-around device that doesn’t suck at anything (unlike the F490). If you’re looking for a phone that does a little bit of everything, then the Samsung F480 is definitely a must-have.
Samsung F480 Quick Specs:
Screen Size: 2.8 inch QVGA display
Internal Memory: 232MB
Networks: GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900, HSDPA 2100
Camera: 5 Megapixel with LED Flash
Expansion Slot: Yes, microSD
Connectivity: 3G with HSDPA, Bluetooth with A2DP profile, GPRS, EDGE, USB
Battery Life: 3 hours talk time, 250 hours stand-by time

Let’s face it, mobile platforms are not exactly a gamer’s dream. For one, mobile games, particularly java games don’t have the same look and feel as stand-alone game consoles. The graphics on mobile games are only 2D plus, sounds and controls are not made for the gaming environment. However, Metal Gear Solid Mobile has actually changed the way I see mobile games.
Metal Gear Solid Mobile is not your ordinary java game. For one, the graphics are rendered in 3D and it is the mobile game ported from the original platform. One downside though is since it is a ported game, you naturally need a lot of controls so there’s a learning curve involved.
The game is somewhat difficult specially with the keypad learning curve thrown in but once you get used to using your phone’s keypad and D-pad, everything is smooth sailing from there.
Konami did a tremendous job on Metal Gear Solid Mobile. Players with camera phones are in for an added treat as they can take a picture of their surroundings and have Snake use it as camouflage. Low-end to Middle-end phones with slow processors would find that keys are sometimes unresponsive.
As for game cheats for this game, I don’t know whether the original Metal Gear game cheats would work since this is a different platform but I assure you that you won’t need them as the game is easy enough to play though it would be cool if some of the Metal Gear Solid 4 cheats would be integrated into the game.
One of the reasons I have been a fan of the windows mobile platform is that most games for windows mobile are in 3D but if other game developers follow Konami’s lead, I might actually use Nokia phones more often (Nokia, don’t get your hopes up). Overall, this mobile game deserves a 5 out of 5 stars.

Since there’s a remote possibility that ultra-rich persons might visit my blog and find all these “cheap” mobile phones don’t interest them, I’ve come up with this luxury mobile phones round-up. Luxury mobile phones are mobile phones which don’t have any high-end features but what makes them expensive is the fact that most of them are hand-crafted, diamond studded and gold plated. Think of them as the Rolex of mobile phones. Be warned that ordinary citizens probably cannot afford any of these mobile phones so just join me in drooling over them. If you’re thinking of getting your fiancé a wedding ring, why not try buying her one of these for a change?
Vertu

Vertu is an England based luxury mobile phone manufacturer and is probably the first luxury mobile phone manufacturer in the world. Their signature diamonds collection is probably one of the most expensive mobile phones in the world. The Vertu Coloured Diamonds line features 385 brilliant cut, 2.77ct white diamonds and pink sapphires over a rose gold bezel. If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then the Vertu coloured diamonds mobile phone should be in every daddy’s girl wish list.
Goldvish Mobile Phones

Currently, the Goldvish ‘Le million’ is the most expensive mobile phone in their collection. The name says it all, it costs around $1,000,000 and features a whopping 120 carats of diamonds. The company also offers other 18k, diamond-studded mobile phones for a much “cheaper” price and you can choose whether you want yellow gold, rose gold, or white gold.
Gresso Collection

Gresso is another luxury mobile phone manufacturer. Right now, they have four mobile phone collections. Their White Diamonds line feature African blackwood made mobile phones with 2.53k white diamonds enchased in 18k gold. Their Black Diamonds collection has .11k of black of black diamonds while their Avantgarde Gold collection blends gold and African Blackwood. Their Avantgarde Steel collection is made of aircraft steel .
Mobiado

Mobiado differs from the other luxury mobile phone manufacturers since their first luxury mobile phones did not feature any diamonds or gold but is wood-encased. Their most recent entry into the luxury mobile phone market is the Mobiado Professional 105 ZAF collection which they claim is the thinnest luxury mobile phone in the world at only 10.6mm. The entire front and back of Mobiado’s ZAF collection are crafted from large pieces of Sapphire crystal.
