Samsung Galaxy S II

So I've already featured the Samsung Galaxy S II on my recent post but after seeing the Galaxy S II microsite from the Samsung Facebook page, my interest was doubly piqued. Let's take a closer look at Sammy's latest offering to the mobile phone world for 2011.
HARDWARE
Like I've mentioned before, the Samsung Galaxy S II features a 1 GHz dual core processor, twice the processing power of most Android smartphones released last year which means your phone would be blazing fast. The S2 will also have a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, which will give you a brilliant display and enchanced viewing experience. I'm already sold by AMOLED so I can't wait to see how Super AMOLED Plus will look like. So what else differentiates the Galaxy S2 from the rest of the Android smartphone announced at the MWC? Well, it's also the thinnest mobile phone to date, measuring at just 8.49mm thin so if you want your mobile phones served sleek and sexy, the Galaxy S2 might just be your cup of tea.
FEATURESThe other features I'm actually excited about are: 1080p video recording capability, another first in a smartphone, WiFi Direct which lets you connect to other WiFi Direct devices without an access point, NFC (Near Field Communication) which will allow you to use the handset for contactless credit card payments, and VPN a feature which I miss on Android smartphones since I use it.
Some of the features which really didn't appeal to me include: Readers Hub since it seems like iBooks and I already get my content from Kindle let's hope they have better titles, Samsung's personalized UI since I prefer the native Android experience, and Flash though I really would love Flash on my browser I hope they have implemented it well since from experience it just makes the browser laggy. Though I don't think I have to worry about the latter as from the microsite, Sammy's boasting about it and I'm sure that the dual core processor can handle flash REALLY well.
I'm also pretty excited about the GameHub, with the slew of Android phones this year I'm sure we're going to see a lot of new apps and games for Android.
OUTLOOKYes, the Galaxy S II might not have 3D like the LG Optimus 3D or cool accessories like the Atrix's laptop dock but it definitely has style as well as features the latter two don't have. So yes, Sammy, the S2 definitely got my attention and is a contender for my next smartphone.
