If you're tired of waiting for the white iPhone 4 to be available in the UK and would just wait for the iPhone 5 come Summer, well, it looks like Apple is trying your patience since it seems that the next generation iPhone won't be available this Summer as what has been the trend since the last 3 iPhones. Don't fret though because there WILL be a new iPhone only it will be available later, and according to rumors, around September.
So why did Apple decide to make a September release date when they've been doing it every Summer, announcing it at WWDC? Well, probably because of the white iPhone delay. If the new iPhone 5 and white iphone 4 will be released simultaneously, the latter of course will take a back seat and also, Apple has to slash the price of the old gen iPhone so it won't do well for their company if a recently released product suddenly has a price cut.
So let's all expect the iPhone 5 to be announced at Apple's special media event in September.

If you're still holding out for a white iPhone 4...well, let me tell you that I admire your patience. It looks like your patience will soon be rewarded as someone has spotted an order page for the White iPhone 4 on 3 UK. But before you excitedly go over to Three, hold your horses as Apple may be trying your patience a bit more since the order page has since been pulled.
Cheer up though, it could mean that the elusive White iPhone 4 could very well be within your reach maybe come Summer. If not, well, you can always order the white iPad 2.

Ringier, a Swedish Media Company has just recently released an iPad application that would revolutionize magazine apps or appazine on tablets. The Collection appazine will be a monthly magazine of sorts and will feature globally relevant topics and it will also be the first appazine to be published simultaneously in English, German, and Chinese.
Now while there are already a lot of magazine subscription apps in the Apple App Store, The Collection aims to be different by providing users with a more intuitive interface. With ordinary magazine apps, you'll only get the written content plus pictures and an occasional animation of pages being turned but with this new appazine, you'll get a highly interactive magazine featuring a lot of audios, videos, 3D digital animation, and other interactive elements.
The Collection app kinda reminds me of the interactive Encarta Encyclopedia CDs though only better. This month, the app will be all about Prince William's upcoming wedding. Of course, the theme will be different monthly with the Swedish company promising relevant content every month. According to the Ringier, this will be a global app, so hopefully, in the near future, we will see versions of the collection for Android, WebOS, and even Blackberry Tablets.
The Collection is an app that will give users a unique and entertaining experience that would revolutionize magazine apps. There are already a lot of reasons to buy a Tablet and Ringier just added another reason to the list with The Collection. Screenshots of the app below.

"Rooting" or "to root" a mobile phone has something to do with Android phones. Basically, it's like jailbreaking for the iPhone. Rooting your Android phone will allow you to access the system or OS and write anything on it. Why is it called root/rooting? Well, from what I gather, "Root" is the user account in Linux which has all privileges and since Android is Linux, to "root" your phone means you now have all privileges on your Android phone.
So since you now know what Root means, why would you want to root your Android phone? If you have all access to your phone, you can pretty much do with it as you like if you're a developer. For ordinary users, one of the most compelling reasons to Root an Android handset is custom ROMs. Customized ROMs or firmware are tweaked versions of the Android OS made by developers. It's customized because either it adds very useful apps or removes some of the bloatware (unnecessary apps) from the original handset.
In some cases, getting a rooted phone will allow you to run some applications that requires super user access and unlock your phone's security so you can unlock your phone from your carrier, or overclock it.
So do you really need root access? It depends on how you're using your mobile phone. If you're satisfied with just playing games on it then you don't really need root access, however, if you like to pimp your phone like maybe, overclock it to make it speedier or if you would like that Samsung specific App on your HTC Android phone, or maybe you can't wait for T-Mobile to roll out the Gingerbread update and want Gingerbread ASAP, then you would benefit from rooting your Android phone.

I know that currently, the Samsung Galaxy Europa is one of the cheapest Android mobile phones available in the UK and if you just got your hands on one, here are my list of best games to download for your phone.
Angry Birds
Come on, there's no reason not to like Angry birds. First, it's free and then you get tons of levels for it. For iPhone users, 99 cents for this game is a steal and for Android users, since it's free, it's almost an unforgivable sin not to download it. Hours of fun plus Rovio gives the best updates out there since they're always adding new levels. If you don't play Angry Birds, well you still should download it since its as if you're getting 99 cents for free.
Abduction!
Honestly, this is my favorite game which makes use of the accelerometer. It's a jumping game similar to Doodle Jump on the iPhone. I tried finding something similar for the iPhone but not even Doodle Jump matches how fluid the developers made use of the accelerometer. It's not too sensitive that just a slight tip will put your character spinning to the edge of the screen, and it's not too insensitive either. There's a lite version if you don't want to spend money but I'm warning you though that you might just be inclined to buy the full version as it's that addictive.
Robo Defense
Like Abduction! there's a free version of Robo Defense. It's a Tower Defense Game, if you don't know what a tower defense game is, think, Plants Vs. Zombies. It's highly addictive and again, if you go for the Lite Version, there's a high probability that you would want to buy the Full version once you're finished.
GameDev Story Lite
If your looking for a time management game for Android, GameDev Story is one of the best I've tried so far. It's really addicting. Kinda reminds me of Lemonade Tycoon. In the game you manage your own gaming company and you have to produce the right combination of games to sell. The lite version gives you two full years to manage your game company but I'm telling you, 2 years won't cut it. I ended up playing 22 years in the game before I got bored.
Bonsai Blast
Fancy a Zuma-like game on your Android handset? Bonsai Blast is your best bet and best of all, it's free. Yep, full version is completely free though there are ads on it. You match three balls of the same color in order to blast it before the balls reach the end of the line. Graphics are so-so but hey, it's free.

I know a lot of people are probably writing off the HTC Desire Z if they're looking for a new android phone since with only an 800 MHz processor, how can it compete with the 1 GHz processors of its competitors and some already have dual core processors to boot. Well, if you download my list of must have apps for the HTC Desire Z then you can be sure that this phone can compete with the latest phones this year and maybe even next.
Apps that let you overclock your Desire Z's processor
New or potential owners of the HTC Desire Z should definitely overclock their phones to around 1.4 GHz speed as it would definitely give your phone an added speed boost. The apps needed are listed on my How to overclock HTC Desire Z post. The good thing about that tutorial is that you're not voiding the warranty of your mobile phone since you will only be temporary rooting your device. If anything goes wrong and you have to take your Desire Z for service, you can just unroot and then restore to factory defaults and no one will be the wiser. By overclocking your HTC Desire Z to 1.4 GHz your device can now compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S, Nexus S, and even the soon to be released Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and Play.

I don't know if it has been around for a while or if it's just new but it seems that there's an O2 YouTube Channel called O2 Guru where it features some how-to videos as well as some reviews of the available smartphones from O2.
The YouTube channel already has a lot of videos uploaded, varying in length and topics. You can find videos from mundane things such as how to swipe between the homescreens of your iPhone, iPhone email setup, to the more advanced, putting your iPhone into recovery mode.
Honestly, most of the how to videos can be learned if you just read the manual of your phone but as some people say, a picture is worth a thousand words and in this case, a video is worth a thousand more. So these videos may be useful for those who have trouble understanding the instructions in a manual.
As for the reviews, well, don't expect anything in depth as a one and a half minute video review of the HTC HD7 doesn't really cover everything you need to know to make an informed decision, besides, I don't think O2 can make an unbiased review considering that they're selling these phones and they'll probably have trouble with the manufacturer if they make a bad review.
Overall, I think the O2 Guru YouTube Channel would be very useful for beginners and its the next best thing rather than going down to your nearest O2 store to troubleshoot your problems.

I know there are a lot of remote desktop application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch but my current favorite is the RDM+. Why? Read on below as I gush about this software.
First of all, RDM+ is my favorite because its the only remote desktop application that is priced just right. $9.99 for the full version is lighter on my pocket than say $19.99, etc. for an app that basically does the same thing.
Set-up is easy, you only have to download the RDM+ client on your PC or MAC and you can gain access on your computers using WiFi or even 3G connection.
RDM+ supports mouse functions and keyboard inputs. There's also a shut down, log off and restart direct commands without you having to call up the taskbar. You can also pan and zoom anywhere on your desktop.
My favorite about this app is the multimedia remote. I think RDM+ is a must have for those with home theater PCs as you can easily pause, play, and skip your multimedia application. Works really well with VLC player and I don't have to download the separate VLC remote app.
Another favorite feature of mine is the multiple display support. I have my PC hooked up to my LCD TV and when I'm watching videos, I always use my LCD display. RDM+ switches between displays seamlessly. Of course, since you're using a smartphone, watching videos on your remote desktop isn't really smooth. The videos skips but using the multimedia remote is instantaneous.
And last, I love the fact that I can still use RDM+ even when someone else is using my PC. There's one application I tried wherein you are automatically logged off once a user is using the desktop and vice versa.
My rating for this app? 5/5 stars. It's useful and has the best bang for your buck.
