Okay, so how come when James Bond or Batman uses a mobile phone watch it really looks cool that you automatically want to have one? Cellphone-watches have been around since 2003 and yet you don’t see a lot of people using it.

I for one am thinking of getting one. I’ve been toying with the idea of a Cell Phone watch these past few weeks. As mobile phones evolve, so does a mobile phone watch. Now, like mobile phones, a cellphone watch also has Bluetooth, camera, and a MP3/MP4 player.

The Mobile Watch G102 with camera from Phone Watch has been of particular interest to me. For one, it has Bluetooth so it would reduce you looking like an idiot since you don’t have to hold the watch to your ear to speak and second, it has a digital camera which is SO James Bond like.

Honestly, the features alone outweigh some of the entry-level mobile phones:

  • Network: GSM900/1800Mhz
  • MP3, MP4 player
  • 1.3 mega pixels camera
  • Supports webcam, smart vioce dialing
  • T-flash card, extend up to 1 GB,
  • WAP2.0 Access, SMS/EMS/MMS
  • Battery: 700mAh Lithium battery (2 pcs)
  • Standby time: up to 80 hours
  • Talking time: up to 150 minutes
  • Size: 66.4mm x (W) 42mm x (H)22mm
  • Weight: 75g (with battery)
  • Included accessories: Bluetooth earphone, Earphone, 2x USB cord, 2x battery, Charger, User Manual, packing box.
So, what’s keeping me from buying one? Well, the size. If you look at the picture, it’s already HUGE when on a man’s wrist, so what would it look like on a female wrist? Maybe as a gift for my brothers, dad or boyfriend but I don’t think I can buy it for my personal use. I guess this is the reason why watch phones are not taking off, manufacturers have failed to make them smaller.
The Mobile Phone Watch G102 with camera costs $189.99 and includes free shipping.

I kind've agree. The only thing that put me off buying one was the thickness. But, I've actually bought one for my wife for valentines day from mobilephonewatches.co.uk that looks fairly sleak. Maybe a bit more expensive that the one you reviewed - but (fingers crossed) should be a winner! I'm not too sure if only just mens toys now!

With regards to comments by poison_ivy. I totally disagree that the size of phone watches are inhibitive. Take a look at most of the conventional watches around and size for size they are equal too if not larger than their counterparts the phone watch. For the latest in technology take a look at the styles available now. The products are phenomenal considering the functionality versus size. At least you can't lose them when they are on your wrist.
