iPhone 3.0.1 jailbreak unlock

So, if you're asking, does redsn0w and ultrasn0w still work on the latest iPhone 3.0.1 firmware update? Or if iPhone 3.0.1 firmware can be jailbroken and unlocked? Short answer, Yes. It turns out that Apple didn't patch hole that would allow you to jailbreak your iPhone using redsn0w and ultrasn0w. Of course, you still have to use the 3.0 file when you're prompted for an IPSW.

I wonder what Apple is thinking, not patching up that exploit? I guess the only fix that 3.0.1 firmware really does is patching up the iPhone SMS vulnerability. Of course, Apple might also realize that there's a big chunk of iPhone users who prefer their iPhone's jailbroken and some of them would risk the SMS vulnerability rather than have their iPhone locked again so Apple might have preferred letting jailbreakers get their way rather than have hackers get the best out of the iPhone.
