NOTE: This review is based on the US version Motorola Z6c. Specifications may differ.
Why is it that once you've seen a Motorola phone, you've seen them all? Isn't Motorola spending enough money on cell phone designers? Maybe that's why during the third quarter of 2007, Samsung has bumped them out on the number 2 position in the cell phone world market. The Motorola Rizr Z6 that will be released by Verizon is no less different. Though it is a slider phone, it has somehow the same look as other Razr phones. Don't get me wrong, the Motorola Razr phones really have a nice design specially the new Razr2 phones but come on, Motorola! Razr is not everything.
The Motorola Rizr Z6, like I said, is a slider phone that somehow incorporates the Razr look from the high glossy front cover to the soft-touch back. Though not as thin as the Razr phones and the Rizr Z3 since it has dimensions of (H x W x D) 4.2 x 1.8 x .68 the added bulk will make the Motorola Rizr Z6 have a sturdier feel in your hands.
The Motorola Rizr Z6 runs on CDMA EVDO 800/1900 network and is compatible GSM 900/1800 networks in case you want to take your Motorola Rizr Z6 with you when traveling abroad. It has a 2 inch screen, a 2 mega pixel camera, and has Bluetooth A2DP profile in case you want to listen to your music using Stereo Bluetooth headsets.
What I love about Motorola phones is that they offer a sort of surround sound technology when playing your music on the speakers so audio lovers might want to consider the Motorola Rizr Z6 when looking for their choice of phones. The Digital audio player on the Motorola Rizr Z6 can playback AAC, AAC+, AAC+ Enhanced, AMR NB, MP3, and WMA9 music file formats while you can use MP3 and MIDI files as your ringtone.
The Motorola Rizr Z6 has a rated talk time of up to 7 hours and standby time of up to 13 days. The Moto Z6 has a 320 x 240 pixel resolution screen and supports 65k colors so the screen is just okay looking, not very bright and sharp compared with the Motorola Rizr Z3 which has a 252k color screen.
All in all, I have to say that the Motorola Rizr Z6 is really geared for those who want music playing capabilities on their handsets. The speakers on this phone plus, and Bluetooth A2DP capability are the main reasons why music lover would want the Motorola Rizr Z6.
